Heart of Louisiana, also known as HeartLA, is a professional organization for published and unpublished authors. The group offers support, encouragement and education to aspiring writers of all romance genres. Monthly meetings include speakers on diverse topics, market news from the publishing industry and camaraderie of other authors, both published and unpublished.
Meetings are held in Baton Rouge at various locations from 10:00 am until noon with optional lunch afterward at a local restaurant. Visitors are welcome to attend two meetings before joining. HeartLa members must belong to RWA National. HeartLa dues are $25.00 per year. RWA dues are $95.00 per year with a $25.00 handling fee for new or lapsed members.
